Carlson Confronts Newsweek Reporter Over Claim Trump Was Institutionalized In Mental Hospital

Fox News host Tucker Carlson engaged in a heated interview with Newsweek senior writer Kurt Eichenwald on Thursday night regarding the reporter’s claim that President-elect Donald Trump had been institutionalized in a mental hospital.
On Tuesday, Eichenwald sent out a tweet that read: “I believe Trump was institutionalized in a mental hospital for a nervous breakdown in 1990, which is why he won’t release medical records.”
The interview between the two went downhill pretty fast, with Eichenwald continually deflecting questions from Carlson.“Do you see a little irony that on one day, you’re criticizing the press for being lazy and inaccurate, and the next day you yourself are being lazy and inaccurate?” the Fox News host asked.

Eichenwald attempted to justify his claim by saying he started covering Trump in the late 1980s and at that time he obtained Trump’s medical records, which he said showed that Trump was given a “heavy prescription for an amphetamine derivative.”
